Zlatni Rat

Arrow Down

The paradise beach Zlatni rat is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Croatian coastline and at the same time the most representative panorama of Bol

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and in this case it truly is. One of the most magnificent, though we might be biased, works of nature on our island and coast. If you're arriving by boat to Bol you'll have a chance to see it from afar and truly experience the beauty and how vast the nature surrounding it is.

It was created by deposits of fine pebbles as sediment around the underwater reef, spreading as a small tongue as much as 500 metres into the sea. The very tip of Zlatni rat keeps changing its shape constantly due to the influence of winds, waves and sea currents, making it appear different and repeatedly interesting.

But that's not the only thing that makes this beach interesting and unique. Lucky stone or 'kamen sreće' is something you can find hidden beneath the pebbles but only if you look hard enough. Known for its specific spiral and shape it is actually the lid of a Turban snail (Bolma Rugosa) and with the help of the sea it reaches the shore and awaits to be found. Not many people find them but those who do, as the legend has it, will find luck and happiness in their lives...if they know where to look.

This location is a protected natural area and a favourite spot for surfers and kite-surfers from around the globe.
